The Sibz group has been making the most of the Easter holidays with a fun day out.

The venue was Hollywood Bowl at Teesside Park and the group enjoyed a few games on the lanes before heading over to Pizza Hut for a lunchtime treat.

Molly Boothby, Sibz Team Leader, said: “It's great to be able to take the Sibz group out and for them to have a good time together. They can enjoy themselves and be with other young people who experience the same things as them.”

SIBZ is a youth group open to siblings aged 8 – 16 of children with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition). Children are encouraged to become involved in the running of their own club and many of the outings are their suggestions.

Siblings are also invited to talks by professional bodies to help them understand autism and related conditions.  They can also share their thoughts and feelings with others who experience some of the same day-to-day challenges.  Through all this they realise they are not alone. Such a caring environment encourages a strong sense of belonging and lasting genuine friendships.
